Build a career that feels sustainable, meaningful & aligned
At the Northern Centre for Adult Psychology, we are always keen to hear from enthusiastic psychologists who are passionate about empowering adults to better understand themselves and create meaningful change in their lives. Working with us offers a supported pathway into private practice — helping you build confidence, deepen clinical capability, and develop sustainable skills so you can thrive long-term. You’ll work alongside a team of like-minded clinicians committed to making a genuine difference. We encourage you to bring your authentic self into your work, while supporting clients to do the same.
Our values
Our clinicians value authenticity, integrity, connection, and accountability in their work. We believe meaningful therapeutic relationships are built when psychologists bring a genuine presence into the room. This depth of connection supports lasting outcomes for clients. As a team, we:
Encourage authenticity in therapeutic work.
Uphold ethical, transparent practice in every decision.
Embrace flexibility.
Welcome growth and change.
Support one another with openness and respect.
Our vision
Our vision is to support individuals to gain clarity, self-understanding, and practical tools to improve their well-being and life direction. If you are motivated to empower clients to achieve meaningful outcomes and live more fulfilling lives, we would love to hear from you.
The role
If you are a fully registered psychologist with experience working with adults, we offer a rewarding opportunity to join our team as an employee. We follow a burnout-prevention caseload model, designed to protect clinician wellbeing and ensure high-quality care. A full-time caseload consists of approximately 25 billable hours per week (pro rata), alongside a strong emphasis on regular time off to recharge. Appointments are scheduled within your allocated hours, supporting genuine work–life balance and long-term sustainability.
We also monitor caseload composition to ensure a balance between:
-
Presentations aligned with your interests
-
Cases that support ongoing professional growth
